Situation and environment
This working Rural Hotel is situated in Santa Eulalia de Oscos, a small valley where the Agueira trout river runs down it. It is surrounded by native oak, birch, chestnut and hazel nut tree forests. It is integrated in a small village where there are six stone, wood and slate houses that is a unique and genuine sample of traditional Asturian architecture.
There is XVIIth century main manor house that, after a respectful restoration, still keeps the essence and authenticity of an Asturian manor (casona), original doors, shutters, balconies, cupboards, bread oven… Totally built in stone, wood and slate roofed, floors are old stone slabs and solid chestnut hardwood. All the floors and interior staircases are made of chestnut also. It has been a three star hotel. There are different halls, one of them with a wood burning fireplace, kitchen, glassed-in terrace, 11 ensuite rooms, (three of them attic style). In the ground floor there is a boiler room, a workshop, a pantry and a bedroom with a bathroom. The footprint is 850 m2 and there is and additional land plot of 1.800 m2. Close to the main entrance there is a carport for 15 vehicles.
As you pass the main door, you can find a corrada or patio where there is a restored chapel, an horreo, stables, a 200 m2 barn still to restore and a threshing circle.
