Several groups are recovering this via Roman to be part of the Camino de Santiago as in antiquity. Inaugurated in 11 AD, it is the oldest of the three main roads documented in Galicia that linked the capitals of the three legal convents of Roman Gallaecia: Bracara Augusta (Braga), Lucus Augusti (Lugo) and Asturica Augusta (Astorga).
