Cospeito, Lugo. Literally in the middle of a plot of land of 15.339 m2 is this stone house. We are in A Terra Chá, the great plain of Galicia. A green plain full of rivers, lagoons and forests. Cospeito has a population of about 5.000 inhabitants. It has all the services. It is less than 30 minutes from Lugo capital. Less than 45 minutes away is Foz and the Cantabrian coast with its beaches and cliffs. And less than an hour away is A Coruña International Airport.
The house of Cospeito
It’s stone made. It has an area of 336 m2 on two floors. It could be inhabited in a very simple lifestyle. But to reach its true potential, a renovation is necessary. On the ground floor there is a large hall that gives access to the old stables on one side. On the other hand, there is a huge kitchen with the traditional wood stove of the Galician country houses. It could perfectly serve as a dining room, given its dimensions. It has some furniture and the space to place a modern kitchen. There is also a living room on this floor. And a complete bathroom.
On the upper floor, there are five bedrooms of different size and condition. And through it you can access the attic which has a very useful open space to install a study, office or whatever you want.
The house has water and electricity.
As we have already said, it is just over 1.5 ha land. Most of it is grassland; although there are also quite a few large trees. It is enclosed by a fence of flat slate stones, called chantos in Galician, as well as posts and fences. On this land and adjacent to the house, there is a brick store. A stream partly surrounds the land, parallel to the road.
