Description

Magnificent set of stone houses in the surroundings of Guitiriz. This municipality of the province of  Lugo is in the region called A Terra Chá (The flat land). It is full of protected natural spaces, always green, crossed by many rivers and with thousands of trees. Through the area of Guitiriz, the Camino de Santiago del Norte runs, with its incessant torrent of pilgrims. They come from all the countries of the world and arrive in Galicia throughout the year.

Down here there is a lot of quality space

It is a large double house, plus a smaller independent house. Two stone houses in the traditional Galician style restored in 2014. A restoration that has respected the solidity of the stone on which they settle and endowed with warmth inside. Stone and wood introduce nature into the houses and coexist with current designs and efficient technologies.

The total built area of approximately 500 m2 includes a large space dedicated to common areas. On the lower floor, a dining room with capacity for 40 people fully restored with excellent materials. Already in the upper one, a diaphanous room for courses or ample meetings, of 70 m2. In the adjoining house, which is accessed through a door in the stone wall, there is a white room with a fireplace. And another beautiful room where we found a grand piano. From there we access a bedroom with four beds. It also gives access to a distribution hall that has a full bathroom. Some stairs take us to a mezzanine where there is a space with four showers, four toilets and three sinks.

And upstairs too…

Following the stairs, we reach the upper floor and the bedrooms. There is a double bathroom with a whirlpool bath on this floor. One bedroom with four beds and another double with a cot. Also by another staircase, you access the library-bedroom, with three other beds. It is a very original stay with a really special atmosphere. In this large and double house, about 20 people can be accommodated, possibly more.

The small house consists of a double height living room with a kitchen and a complete bathroom, all on the ground floor. On the upper floor, there is a very large double bedroom with full bathroom.

The heating is diesel. There are also several pellet stoves and in summer hot water from solar panels.

A tourist complex running in Guitiriz

In this plot of about 3 ha of land, various activities are carried out. The property has been rented several times for courses in meditation, tai-chi, yoga, etc. One of the pergolas has been specifically designed to practice outdoor meditation overlooking the beautiful valley. There is also a small pond and a Zen garden space. A multitude of different trees and aromatic plants fill this 30,000 m2 that is completely closed.
