A listed Galician manor house (Pazo Gallego), preserved in perfect conditions, is not available every day to be acquired. Suffice it to say that it is inhabited and rehabilitated in all its details. The splendour of past times, the nobility of materials and the luxury of large spaces are present everywhere in this Galician manor.
The Pazo de Liñeiro, which is the name of this property, was built in the 18th century, in the place of Anxeles (Ángeles in Spanish), within the Concello de Boimorto, A Coruña. It is located in the region of A Ulloa, which owes its name to the Ulla River, trout and salmon, which crosses it. And it is distributed among the provinces of A Coruña, Lugo and Pontevedra. The Camino de Santiago del Norte runs through this area. Very close to the property is the monastery of Sobrado dos Monxes, a magnificent enclave of Galician culture.
Liñeiro: typical distribution of a Pazo Gallego
The main building has a rectangular layout, consists of two floors and has a surface area of 1,000 m2. We will find galleries, kitchens with their traditional lareira and granite wash basin, modern kitchens, bread ovens … and a thousand places where you can breathe a very special atmosphere. It has in total six bedrooms, four living rooms of different sizes, including a beautiful library and three bright bathrooms. It has heating.
Other buildings of the property
In addition to the main house, there are several buildings within the land of approximately 3.7 Ha. The typical Galician granary (horreo in Spanish). An old mill now in disuse, with a surface of about 180 m2. Something not negligible if you want to transform into a spacious apartment or guest house. And, finally, and a barn of 50 m2, which can also be converted into a living space or used as a garage or room for implements and tools. Of course, it has a spring inside the garden, with a curious network of granite ponds that carry the water to the aforementioned mill.
The nucleus and garden of this Galician granite Pazo in its entirety is walled with granite stone as well. Only the rehabilitated roof is of new tile. The trees that surround the house are majestic and very old. His noble shield welcomes us from the main entrance. And in the access from the outside to the property, we find a granite lintel that supports a cross of the same material.
This Pazo Gallego has all the characteristics to become a luxury home, for a large family used to receive visitors, as it was for centuries. But it can also be transformed into a tourist establishment. For this reason, it falls within the category that we call LIFE PROJECTS. In essence, those decisions that are made thinking about changing the course of our life, either by wanting to start a business or by simply changing our usual environment.
