This is a sensational property, located in the parish of Oleiros, Lugo. It is a small rural nucleus of just over 300 inhabitants. Oleiros belongs to the municipality of Vilalba (7 Km) with all services you can need. This population is the capital of the region known as A Terra Cha (The flat land) because the dominant style of landscape are large green plains crossed by a multitude of rivers and streams. Among them the Miño River, the longest and most abundant in Galicia.
It is a fertile land where meadows alternate with small forests of native trees. And this property in Oleiros is a clear example of what the name of the region means: it is a meadow with a gentle slope, trees all around and a couple of centenary cypresses that welcome us when we enter the estate.
There are several buildings, most of them made of stone, built in 1900. There are three houses, a large house suitable for living with slight reforms. Another house attached to this same big house, which needs a total rehabilitation. And a third house to rehabilitate internally.
The big house has a total built area of 542 m2. It is distributed in three floors.
The ground floor has two bedrooms and an old-fashioned equipped kitchen, with a “Bilbaína” iron stove. It also has an adjacent space that corresponded to the old kitchen of the house. There is a small lareira, the traditional open wood stove, typical of Galician country houses. It also has a utility room and an entrance from the stables of the semi-detached house now to be renovated. In addition to these rooms, on the ground floor there is a bathroom and a storeroom, where the high performance water filtering equipment and the gas heater are located.
The first floor: consists of a living-dining room that leads to the second floor of the old semi-detached house. There are five bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is also the entrance to the attic, which is practically diaphanous.
The semi-detached house is divided into two floors, the ground floor are stables and the first floor has not any division wall. It also has a small attached garage and a stone oven.
The third house has a total built area of 243 m2. On the ground floor there is a storage room and the kitchen, all to be restored. On the first floor, we find a large and open space that was formerly the home. It has a garage of 63 m2.
As we have already described, this property in Oleiros, has a green and fresh meadow, with an area of 17,845 m2. On this land we find, in addition to the buildings described, a series of sheds of different size and condition. They have a total area of 223 m2. There is also a farm building of more recent construction, with a surface area of 296 m2. There is also a horreo, the traditional granary of Galicia. Inside the farm there is a well that gives water to the house, which has a high performance water filtering system. There is also another well outside the property on which there is a right of use.
The possibilities of this property in Oleiros are extraordinary. Due to the number of buildings and the extension of the land, it is possible to install a multitude of projects. From an agricultural farm, to house a small community of any kind: friends in cohousing, to a spiritual association, or an excellent home for a large family wishing to live together but with some independence. It should be mentioned that, once upon a time, beekeeping and honey production was a productive activity on this farm.
