About 11 km from Lugo, in the southwest direction, is this magnificent manor. Its origins, it seems, go back to a medieval tower. Although the first registered owners are the family Diaz Teixeiro Saavedra, in the seventeenth century, whose arms in the coat of arms of the pazo confirm this. They were hidalgos, who did not reach the category of titled nobles but were socially superior to the vulgar. And this is reflected in the pazo they inhabited and the lands they owned. In the 18th century, it was used as a summer residence by Cayetano Gil Taboada, bishop of Santiago and later archbishop of Compostela. Under the mandate of this ecclesiastic the episcopal palace of Lugo and the facade of the Obradoiro of the Cathedral of Santiago were built. In fact, the Camino de Santiago Primitivo runs just 200 meters from the manor.
