Recesende is a parish that belongs to the Council of Castroverde, Lugo. The urban core of Castroverde is only 3.5 km from the property. The area is ideal for hiking trails along oak and chestnut groves, both on foot and on horseback. It is also common to see some litters of wild boars, roe deer and even more frequently foxes.
There is a castro (old town from Roman times) where primitive burials called Sartegos from High Medieval era, S. VIII to XII, preserved as Cultural Heritage. You can find all kinds of historical relics, such as archaeological sites, historical buildings, mills, cruceiros (stones crosses), etc. Among them it is possible to emphasize for its proximity, the hiking route known as “Itinerary Val do Tórdea River”, of 17 Kms in length. This route allows you to discover numerous Galician heritage assets.
It is located in the middle of the Camino Primitivo de Santiago, undoubtedly the oldest. It is for this reason that it is within the area of concession of Aids and Subsidies, which the Government of the Community of Galicia grants for all kinds of works and services that are required for the improvement of the area of influence of the Camino de Santiago.
As for the house, it is located in the place called “O Carrizal” and its construction dates from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century. In a dilapidated state, it was rehabilitated and expanded between 2005 and 2008, with the declaration of new construction dated June 8, 2009, and the rest of the existing building being constructed. The constructed area is 315 m2.
Its distribution is as follows:
On the ground floor, it has an L-shaped dining room, so that there are three distinct areas. A dining room, a TV room and an area, the entrance, as a living room. At the confluence of the three zones is a cassette fireplace of sufficient capacity to heat all the zones. Communicated with the living room there is a guest toilet. The kitchen, fully furnished, equipped with a wood stove with its corresponding bench of wood that surrounds the home, called traditional economic kitchen in Galician rural houses, and a
differentiated part equipped with modern kitchen with all its services; I mean, ceramic hob, oven, microwave refrigerator washer and dryer. This floor also has a double bedroom, with a bathroom.
The staircase leading up to the upper floor leads to a living room distributor, with space for a TV, a work table and two sideboards. It has three doors. Those on the right and left communicate with two separate bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. The middle one communicates with a distribution hallway towards three doors. Those on the right and left give to other bedrooms. And the one in the center has a bathroom with a front with two sinks, a WC and bidet area on one side and a shower area on the other.
A detail tells us about the level of quality of the facilities of this Castroverde house. The four bathrooms are complete but, to make them comfortable, two of them have a Roca hydromassage column. A third has a 170 cm Roca bathtub, to facilitate the cleaning of small children if they have them. These three bathrooms are upstairs. The fourth and last, the one located in the ground floor bedroom, has a large Aquatech cabin from Roca.
In this Castroverde house you have an outbuilding, built on the north side of the building. It has a built area on two floors of 29 m2 each. This annex building, destined on the upper floor for a garage and warehouse for field and garden supplies, has on the ground floor a small apartment designed for service, which has heating, telephone, TV and internet connections. It is equipped with a bedroom with a full bathroom with a shower. It is currently used as a warehouse.
All the dependencies of the house as well as the outbuilding have oil heating, TV and telephone sockets. All the house services, hot and cold water, heating, garden irrigation, television and telephony are centralized in an installation room located on the ground floor of the outbuilding for the garage.
In the entrance area to the farm, where the buildings are located, access is via a wide concrete pavement with an area intended primarily for parking.
It is about two land plots. The main one has an area of 13,552 m2. It has as a special feature: a drinking water spring of exceptional quality, with which all the needs of the property are fully supplied. It has about 400 trees among chestnut trees, in production, and oaks. The second plot has an area of 1,889 m². The two are on both sides of the Camino de Recesende at their landing on the Lu-P-1201 road and located opposite each other. In this one, there is also another source of drinking water that at the moment is not used and whose flow is slightly more than double the previous one.
From the property you can access, in about 10/12 minutes, the Lucus Augusti University General Hospital. This proximity of Castroverde to the capital of the province makes this property especially attractive, since in about 15 minutes you can be in the pedestrian streets inside the Roman Wall.
