Samos is a key point on the Camino de Santiago Francés, the most visited by the more than 300,000 pilgrims who arrive in Santiago every year. The Monastery of San Julián de Samos is a must stop for hikers who come down from the Cebreiro highlands and wait to get to Sarria. In this privileged enclave is this property that offers multiple possibilities to the next owner. It can be a great house for a large family or more than one… A hostel for pilgrims, many are still needed along the Camino. Or any other type of hotel establishment that, well managed, can be a great business.
The house exteriorly is of a simple but different beauty. The layout of the typical Galician galleries, made of wood, in two of its floors, give it a very personal and unmistakable look. The slate stone of its walls combined with the ocher finishes of the façade give this building a special personality. The property consists of three floors of 116 m2 each, therefore they would be 448 m2 in total. Although it needs restoration, the structure is solid and in perfect condition; the interior shows us the qualities of the materials with which this building was built in floors and beams, combining different types of wood. The primitive distribution is not worth describing, since there are so many end-use options -as we have already described- that can be adapted to the needs of spaces and activities that are considered. This property is located in the center of Samos, a short distance from the Town Hall and next to the monastery.
The Monastery of San Julián de Samos, founded in the 6th century, belongs to the order of the Benedictines.
