Description
It is a semi-abandoned village, with only one inhabitant, a short distance from the Camino del Norte on its way through Vilalba, Lugo.
The village
In this village there are three houses and one of them is currently inhabited. The other two houses, to reform, with an approximate built area of about 600 m2 summing both. One of them, the largest one, has the shape of L. It has a large kitchen on the ground floor and in the upper one there are 5 bedrooms and a bathroom, as well as a large dining room. The other house is smaller. This village also has four barns, one of them very large where a tractor fits and there is still plenty of space. The other, in front of the house, is also large. In another of the barns, we find a bread oven. And there is even another one that is currently used as a woodshed. These barns could be converted perfectly into bungalows. In addition, we will find two horreos, the traditional Galician granaries that are already part of the cultural and ethnographic heritage of Galicia.
The land
Two parcels of 60,000 and 40,000 m2 form the land corresponding to this property, that is 10 Ha in total. The Ladra River runs through this village. It is a beautiful trout river, a tributary of the Miño, which guarantees water throughout the year. Although the village also has a well and a spring. Within the land, we find a variety of fruit trees, wide meadows and some large oaks and chestnuts.
The ubication
Ladra is a town located 5 km from Vilalba and 30 km from Lugo capital. It is located in the centre of the so-called Terra Chá (Tierra Llana), a Biosphere Reserve area. By this region, the Camino de Santiago del Norte runs.
This point has very good communication to go to Coruña and with the Autovía del Cantábrico reach the coast of Lugo, in just over 30 minutes. Its environment is agricultural and livestock. Very close to the property is the Denomination of Origin of San Simón de Villalba Cheese. Nearby is also the area where the famous capones de Vilalba roosters are raised, also protected by their Geographical Origin Denomination.
A life project
Due to the possibilities, it offers to future buyers, we have included this property in the PROJECTS FOR LIFE category. The location and characteristics of this village assure us that we can establish any business or activity that focuses on natural life, whether productive or contemplative. It would be possible to inhabit one of the houses, once renovated, while the rest of the village is being rehabilitated.
