Description
Caldas de Reis (Caldas of Kings, in Castilian) is a municipality of the province of Pontevedra, in the southwest of Galicia. It has about 10,000 inhabitants. The word caldas comes from Latin and means hot. Generically it is applied to thermal waters. And Caldas de Reis is known as the thermal town of Galicia.
Location
It is the capital of the Salnés Valley, watered by the Umia River, famous for its vineyards. In fact, there is an enotourism route centred on the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. Its main stages are the towns of Caldas de Reis, Cambados, O Grove, Meaño, Meis, Ribadumia, Sanxenxo, Vilanova de Arousa and Vilagarcía de Arousa, all within the province of Pontevedra.
Caldas enjoys a privileged situation. These are some distances to other important points of Galicia: Pontevedra: 21 km. Santiago de Compostela (airport), 36 km. Vigo (airport): 50 km. La Coruña (airport): 100 km. Villagarcía de Arosa: 11 km. Therefore, Caldas is close to the sea and the beaches of the Ría de Arosa. And located in one of the best areas of the town is this property.
